About Dr. Smith:
Dr. Barry Smith served as a secondary science and mathematics teacher and then as principal and Assistant Pastor in Christian schools and churches for 14 years before coming to BBC as a professor in 1984. In addition to teaching in both the College and Graduate School, he served as the Director of Information Technology for 21 years before becoming the school’s first Director of Institutional Research in 2005.

Insight Questions
1. What is your favorite book?
Other than the Bible I have many “favorites.”  However, I often find myself referring to J.. Dwight Pentecost’s book, “Things to Come: A Study in Biblical Eschatology.”

2. What are your hobbies?
Oil and watercolor painting, fishing, and most of all our grandchildren.

3. Who has been your greatest spiritual influence?
Dr. Mark Jackson.

4. What goals do you have for your students?    
I want my students to:
1. Love learning for the sake of learning.
2. Learn.
3. Live for the Lord.
4. Use what they learn to glorify God in their lives and ministries.
